Because of the infinite space of the ocean for development, the Marine Bureau is working to expand marine affairs and provide counsel to marine industries and marine recreational and tourism industries on the basis of existing fishery development with the consideration of the local marine characters of Kaohsiung in order to improve the competitive capacity of the Harbor City.

　　Kaohsiung, which located in the southern Taiwan, having many unique advantages in river and harbor landscaping, industrial and commercial development, marine industries, transportations, tourism and recreation. Therefore Kaohsiung City Marine Bureau become the first institution takes the responsibilities of marine affairs and fisheries in government. It is our goal to publicize oceanic culture and arouse people's conscience to ocean with existing fisheries and oceanic arrangement. Because of the infinite space of the ocean for development, the Marine Bureau is working to expand marine affairs and provide counsel to marine industries and marine recreational and tourism industries.

　　Kaoshiung also appears to be a super star in Taiwan area for a long time, and always guides fish industry to further refinement and modernization to meet the future challenge. Efforts from both the government and the industry will be exerted to the development of new fishing grounds and acquisition of foreign fisheries cooperation, enhancement of coastal and offshore fishing grounds, and improvement of environment for aquaculture to create a brighter future for fisheries.
