Fifty percent of the yacht manufacturing companies in Taiwan are located in Kaohsiung city which contribute 65% of the yachting industry's total national output. However, many of the construction yards are actually not located on the waterfront. In addition, to save time and the cost incurred transporting newly constructed yachts to the port, the government had built an exclusive pier for yacht launched in 2009.
The facility can serve more than 140 yachts. It can greatly reduce the cost of handling yacht, and promote the competitive strength of Taiwan’s yacht industry, thus helping dealers to develop toward larger-scale super yacht with higher value added.
